Chagga Village Tour

You will be picked from your Arusha hotel in the morning, from where we’ll drive you to Marangu, situated in the fertile hills of Kilimanjaro. Here you will meet your village guide, who will first take you to the Chagga Live Museum, where you will get to know about the traditional ways of this agricultural community, and also the tribe’s history.

Later on, the guide will lead you through coffee and banana plantations, all the way to the spectacular waterfalls. Along the way, he will tell you a story about flora and fauna of the Kilimanjaro region. At this spectacular sight, and with the roaring sound of the water coming down from above you will have lunch, and also take a swim in the refreshing waters of the waterfall. In the afternoon we’ll take you to the small village of Mamba, which is famous for its caves, once used as a refuge for women and children during war with Masai tribe. Here you will have opportunity to visit a local blacksmith who still forges spear heads in the traditional way. Later in the afternoon we will transfer you back to your hotel.
