Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Kigoma – Gombe Stream National Park
You will be picked from your hotel in Arusha, and transferred to Arusha airport or your scheduled flight to Kigoma. Upon your arrival a transfer will be provided taking you to the restaurant in Kigoma town where you will have lunch. Later on, transfer to Kibirizi port followed by boat to Gombe Stream national park which takes about hour and half, gazing the clear crystal waters of the Lake Tanganyika. As you reach Gombe, there are registration formalities at the park headquarters, from where we continue with Chimpanzee trekking with the park guide. Park forests are home to variety of birds and several species of primates, apart from chimpanzee there are velvet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs, dik dik and many more. In the evening you will return to your accommodation for dinned and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzees Trekking – Kakombe Waterfalls – Kigoma
After breakfast you will depart into forest for a chimpanzee trekking. You will walk through dense and evergreen tropical rain forest toward the chimpanzee feeding post, and from there to the Kakombe waterfalls. You will have the chance to see other species of primates, like the olive baboon, beachcomber, red tailed monkeys, red colobus, blue or vervet monkeys. In the afternoon you will return to the lodge for hot lunch, followed by boat ride to Kigoma town for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Ujiji town – Dr. Livingstone Museum – Arusha
Breakfast will be served at your accommodation, after which you will visit Ujiji town for one and half hour tour of the Dr. Livingstone Museum. Inside the museum the guide will provide you a short history of Dr. Livingstone and show you the point where met Stanley. After the visit to the museum, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Arusha. Once you arrive at Airport Airport, you shall be transferred to your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home.
